My Story

Welcome to Lead Me, my faith based lifestyle blog!  I am so glad you stopped by!  My name is Julia and this is a blog about my life.  On April 12th, 2014 my life changed in the best way possible!  I married the man of my dreams, Aaron.

I am 25 and in addition to having a hunk of a husband, I am the proud mama the most wonderful black lab/pit bull puppy in the world!  Her name is Delilah and she is 4 years old.  She absolutely LOVES her $9 plastic pool from WalMart.  Every Texas girl needs a place too cool off!

I graduated from Texas A&M University with concentrations in math and psychology.  My life consists of home improvement projects, playing with my puppy, following Jesus, the never ending weight loss challenge, pinning, and my husband's unhealthy addiction to netflix.  I love Target more than anyone probably should and think that they should pay me to advertise for them.  Joanna Gains from Fixer Upper is my idol and it is on my bucket list to meet her!

I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, before starting my college career at Towson University in Maryland.  In 2009, during my time at Towson I met my husband who was a cadet at Virginia Military Institute and it was love at (almost) first sight.  He is a strong man of faith, a true "jack-of-all-trades", completely selfless, the sexiest man in the world, and (sorry ladies) completely mine!  There could never be a man more perfect for me than him and I thank God every day for bringing us together to share this life.

Aaron graduated from VMI in May of 2011 and commissioned as an officer into the United States Army.  After his first year of training, he got his first duty station at Fort Hood, Texas and I moved to Texas to join him in May 2012.  We lived in a great small town about an hour north of Austin and we loved every second of it.  We would have lived there forever but the Army had other plans.  In October of 2015 we packed up our house, our pup, and ourselves and moved to Columbus, Georgia.  Georgia is another very temporary home as we are currently awaiting orders to who knows where.  Home is where the Army sends us, right?

Until then...
